City of Arak History Museum
Client:
City of Arak
Location:
Arak, Iran
The museum was designed to give place to a big collection of historical artifacts, some as old as 3000 years, that the City of Arak keeps in unconditioned storage. The museum space is supposed to provide flexible galleries and media platforms to present the history of the city through a combination of the objects and media presentation, as well as more than 4000 sqft of secured storage and lab spaces for scholars and preservationists. As a homage to the old city, the roof was proposed as the primary outdoor public space hosting gatherings and ritual events. The project is on a long pause due to the lack of funding.
